This is the meeting minutes and agenda for the Meeting on 2008-01-15.

    • decided: Feb 11th
  • Status reports
    • 5.3.2 (released)
      • trogl's only comment: release instructions don't work well on solaris
          • Wes will work on recreating current release in the new makerelease project
          • We'll work after that on reordering and rechecking
      • no announcement sent yet? wes will create one later
      • magfr changes to trunk discussed; versioning is quite different
        • should it be applied to earlier releases?
        • people want review first, but no opposition unless problems are found
    • Next release? (rstory)
      • 5.2.5?
        • 5.2.5 general consensus
        • Wes will do release as he works on a new release script
    • coverity (Wes)
      • ugh, Wes needs to contact coverity (still)
  • Coding issues
    • Multiple 5.4.1 container-related crash reports: roadmap to solution? (rstory)
      • patch 1712645 has been submitted, but considered "not ideal"
    • Handling of Patches (e.g. Jan Safranek/c_varun)
      • Wes will write back
  • New projects and things being worked on
    • Dave's MIB rewrites
      • picking up again after break
      • Currently looking at UCD:disk & HostRes:FSTable
  • Round-the-table of work items (everyone; led by Wes)
    • dts12: UCD/HostRes merging :-)
    • hardaker: is likely to do some UDP vs TCP profiling soon, some new security module work and potentially some speed improvements to some of the handler mechanisms
    • magfr: sysORTable rewrite (delayed due to bug)
    • tanders: still considering v3/USM performance improvements, but noone offered help.
    • rstory: i'd like to throw out an idea i've been thinking about for a while... a new-snmp non-profit organization to try and get funding for make net-snmp more, uh... better... major features, fixes, keeping up with patches... etc...
      • discussion ensued... no objections but little effort available to volunteer time toward it.
