Macintosh Notes
From Net-SNMP Wiki
Hints tips and notes for Net-SNMP on Macintosh computers, including MacOS X.
Starting with MacOS X, Apple has included the Net-SNMP agent with their MacOS.
Configuration
Configuration for MacOS should follow the same procedure as just about any other UNIX-like installation. There is an excellent article on using Net-SNMP's snmpconf tool on MacOS X here.
Compiling from scratch
See README.osX. Note that starting with 10.5, Apple's binary provides additional information above and beyond what the standard Net-SNMP agent provides. So unless you need a specific feature that they do not provide, you might want to stick with their binary. Of course, it's easy to install both, so you can compare available data.
